Question: What is Game on Gala?

Answer: Game on Gala is Wesley’s spring fundraising event brought to you in the form of a virtual trivia party! And let’s be honest, we could all use a little par-taaay right about now. In the past, our school would host a fabulous in-person soiree—The Gala—to raise needed funds for budget relieving programming, campus improvements, and operating expenses. Unfortunately, The Gala had to be cancelled last year due to Covid. However, we are determined to end this year on a high note and are thrilled to announce our online ‘Pub Trivia’ Party: Game on Gala! 

Question: What are the funds raised being used for?

Answer: As we move forward to the fall, where we as a community can gather in person once again, we will be unveiling a new and improved outdoor space funded by the Game on Gala. This will be a space where our children can continue to play and expand their imaginations but also a space where parents and teachers can come together and connect face to face. The area of campus just off the turf field where the basketball hoops live and is covered in colorful, shock-absorbent tiles is badly in need of a refresh. These tiles have a lifespan and therefore need to be replaced before they become a safety concern. In addition, this area is one of the first places a visiting school sees when they come to campus and also serves as a community space where we gather during drop off for hugs (remember those), hellos, and hobnob. So, our goal is to be able to start the new school year with a refreshed outdoor space as we get back to business as usual or as we like to call it hugs, hellos, and hobnob.

Question: Why are we fundraising when our kids are just fully back to school and we are still living with the effects of Covid?

Answer: We understand everyone’s lives have been negatively impacted by the pandemic and we want to be extremely sensitive to that as we ask you to join us in this fundraising effort. However, as our kids return to on-campus learning (cue the fireworks), we must continue to meet our financial goals so we can provide the robust programming and up-to-date facilities our children deserve. 

Question:  Who will be attending Game on Gala?

Answer:  Everyone! All parents and recent alumni parents as well as the faculty and staff of The Wesley School are invited. It’s time to come together as we near the end (hopefully) of this pandemic and have some fun!  

Question: Why do we charge for tickets?

Answer: In order for all funds raised to go to Wesley, we must offset the cost of the event.  We do not want any family to be deterred by the ticket cost – if you would like a reduced ticket price please reach out to Dyllan at dfernandez@wesleyschool.org

Question: Will there be a silent auction?

Answer: Yes! There will be an online silent auction held the weekend of the event. Stay tuned for more details.

Question: If I can not attend the event may I still participate in the silent auction?

Answer: Yes. The silent auction will be open to everyone.
